Figs

Shhhhh a moment of silence for the opening of fig season. They are so plump, so sweet, with a little bit of texture.  I could eat them by the pound. In fact, I have.
I’ve heard good things about pairing figs with goat cheese, but I’ve never felt the need to improve on straight-out-of-the-box figs.  I don’t even remember washing them.  

Any ideas?
