My first guest post is by my son, Jacob, who is 17. Our teenagers have taken Megabus alone up and down California several times, and I highly recommend this mode of transportation. Mom won’t let me drive to LA. (Something about my van “dying any day now.”) For most kids, driving isn’t even a remote option, especially not for hours-long journeys. Instead, I’ve been using Megabus, a long-distance bus service. Having taken the trip from San Jose to LA several times now, I can confidently say it’s been a more than suitable replacement.
Everyone’s worried about safety. That’s reasonable, what with busses like Greyhound, the homeless shelter on wheels. Fortunately, the same isn’t possible on Megabus. You can only buy a ticket with a credit card. The worst thing that can happen to you on a Megabus is falling asleep on the guy next to you.
