Mangosteen

My first taste of mangosteen was not my choice. We were walking along a street in Shanghai and passed a vendor with two big baskets of these little plum-sized fruits. He had opened one and was offering passers-by tiny sections on a toothpick. We stopped and asked what they were, and he stuck a piece in my mouth! Unasked! Cheeky! If it had been durian I would have spit it out and slapped him, but lucky for him it was delicious--sweet and slimy like a banana, but in tiny sections like citrus fruit.
We bought some, and because we wouldn’t be back home for awhile, ate them walking. Juice got all over our hands and sometimes I got a bite of woody peel by accident. Still delicious.

Have you tried mangosteen?

HI! Its funny to read that "if it is durian you slapped him" LOL
Anyways, mangosteen in my hometown here in the Philippines is cheap and superrrr delicious its one of my favorite aside from durian. :D Mangosteen has a lot of health benefits not only by eating the fruits but also taking supplement made in mangosteen.
