"Mouse Guard"

I bought this cute grenade-sized vegetable because it was beautiful, and because it fit so nicely in my hand.
The vegetable lady at the Hong Kong wet market told me it was called “mouse guard,” but I haven’t been able to verify the name so it gets quotation marks until I do. She gave me some complicated peeling and stir-frying directions.

Lo and behold, it’s a short cucumber. I ate it raw.

Can you give me any clues about the name? Have you seen it?
