Steinway Beans

Green beans are so ordinary, but dress them up with a classy piano, and they take on a whole new life. Music is for everyone!

I usually blanch my green beans, then sautee them with olive oil or butter and salt.  This is getting boring.  Do you have any suggestions? Please, keep it simple.  I’m a low-maintenance cook.

Cool pic. Is your piano ok? How did it feel having green beans on it? Did it protest, or welcome them as a change from fingers?

Try adding toasted or sautéed almonds to the green beans. Yum. Green Beans Amandine, if you want a title for the dish.

The piano's fine! They were clean beans. I'll try the Green Beans Amandine--it sounds manageable.

I do this with asparagus, so I can't help but think it would work with green beans: place 'em in a ziploc baggie with minced garlic, salt, pepper, and EVOO; shake 'em up, then grill those puppies.

Ooh, that's a great idea! You could prepare them ahead of time and throw them on the grill when you're ready. I'm going to try it!

You can steam them and add some mustard which gives them a nice vibe.

Mustard? I hadn't thought of that. Thanks!
