The Big Orange Splot

It’s story time! Today, kids, I’ll be reading you a story that is an old family favorite. My children enjoyed this book immensely when they were little, and it reminded me to make my home a place that reflects who I am and what I love. If you’re an empty nester who loves to be at home, I hope this video inspires you, too!
Because our empty nest is looming before us, my husband and I are in the process of downsizing and getting ready to take a round-the-world trip.  We’re happy to leave the town where we have lived for 20 years, happy to ditch our conventional home, and happy to live out of suitcases for months and months.

Some people, however, love their towns and their streets and their houses and chose to spend their empty nest years at home. Homebodies, we call them. If that’s you, I hope you identify with Mr. Plumbean and make your home all you want it to be.
So, go get yourself some lemonade and an alligator and start dreaming!

I liked that story! Never heard it before. It is always nice to here a new great story...and read so well, too.

Thanks, Jennifer! I read it approximately 1,000,000 times to my kids. It's a favorite.
